GOOD NEWS; Top class attacker has chosen to join Manchester United over Chelsea
Gianluca Di Marzio recently confirmed that Jose Mourinho, who flew out to Croatia earlier in the season to discuss the deal, had tabled an offer worth €35 for the winger.
The Italian side will only accept offers within the region of €55 and €60m, and it was later confirmed by Sky that Antonio Conte had joined the race for Perisic’s signature as well.
But according to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, Perisic is set on a move to Old Trafford over Stamford Bridge.
There is clearly something at Man United that has caught Perisic’s eye. Mourinho has always placed emphasis on outlining the tenets of a new player’s role in incredible detail, making what he wants – and indeed doesn’t want – remarkably clear.
And the proposition made to Perisic is clearly an attractive one: he figures primarily on the left hand side, and the Special One may indeed see the 29-year-old as a more industrious, prolific alternative to Anthony Martial, somebody capable of militantly sticking to a game plan and maintaining the right kind of intensity over a long stretch of games.
The Croat’s aptitude for also serving as a forward-thinking central midfielder, as seen with his partnership with Geoffrey Kondogbia at times with Inter, serves as another route into this team. Mourinho has always valued versatility mixed with the right attitude, and with this in mind you can understand why Perisic could be his first signing of the summer window.

GOOD NEWS;Jose Mourinho confirms his summer Man United transfer plans
The Red Devils are set to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Mourinho gears up for his second season in charge at Old Trafford and the transfer window reopens.
Manchester United will be able to use the lure of Champions League football to attract some of the world’s top players this summer after their Europa League final win last week secured their place in the group stage next season.
It remains to be seen which players Manchester United will sign this summer but is probably safe to say that the Red Devils are expected to spend big in the coming weeks.
And Mourinho confirmed that he has already informed executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward of the exact players he wants to sign this summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ on Saturday, Mourinho said: “He (Woodward) knows since March, who I want, what I want, how much I want.

CAN THIS NEW MANCHESTER UNITED CROATIAN SIGNING SOLVE THE CLUB PROBLEM NEXT SEASON?
However, the Croatian might look to part ways next season, his destination being the Premier League. Reportedly, the midfielder, who has a contract with Internazionale that runs through till 2020, is a potential target for the English giants Manchester United in the next summer transfer window and might be offloaded by his current club as a part of their plan to revamp their side for the upcoming season.
The Red Devils are looking to make a bid for the player that might cost them somewhere in excess of £36 million. The hefty price tag on the Croatian is considered to be a deserving one, with the midfielder helping his current club to win a number of matches in the recently concluded season, having scored 10 goals throughout the campaign. The midfield maestro has also been in the thick of things with eight assists and 58 chances created to his name.
Manchester United had to go through a quite difficult season, with a number of players facing injury scares. Apart from that, players like Mata, Rooney and Martial failed to impress the current manager Jose Mourinho with their respective displays of prowess in the midfield.

Two keepers identified by Jose Mourinho to potentially replace David De Gea
Jan Oblak and Kasper Schmeichel are the two goalkeepers Mourinho has in mind though Old Trafford chiefs are increasingly confident the Spanish international will resist temptation to return to his homeland.
But the Manchester United boss is determined to have a contingency plan in place report the Manchester Evening News.
United held talks with his representatives in Manchester last month when they were told it would take a world record fee for a keeper to lure the Slovenian to Old Trafford.
And in a summer when Mourinho plans to spend in excess of £200m, the 24-year-old would represent a significant outlay - even taking into consideration the fee United would receive for De Gea.
Schmeichel is the cheaper option - but Mourinho is confident the Leicester keeper would settle in quickly at United, given his Premier League experience.
United’s preference has always been to keep hold of De Gea, with the club preparing a new contract to reward the 26-year-old for his outstanding performances over the past five years.
Mourinho has always maintained De Gea would remain part of his squad, despite continued speculation in Spain that he will head to the Bernabeu.
“David is top of the world and we want to keep top of the world,” said the United manager this month.
“I don’t go with ‘if he leaves’ because I hope he doesn’t leave. I think we need two top goalkeepers and a top young goalkeeper, which is what what we have.”
Jose Mourinho sends message to Man United fans after This midfielder signs deal
The 35-year-old midfielder has agreed a new deal to stay at Old Trafford for another season after originally signing a one-year contract extension following Mourinho’s appointment last summer.
Carrick, whose new deal runs until June 2018, has been a reliable performer in midfield for the Red Devils whenever called upon by Mourinho this term.
The midfielder notched up 22 Premier League appearances for Manchester United this season as the Red Devils ended up sixth in the table.
Manchester United won the EFL Cup and Europa League in Mourinho’s first season in charge at the club and the Portuguese coach was delighted to see Carrick sign a new deal with the Red Devils.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Michael over this past season,” Mourinho told Manchester United’s website.
“He is one of the true professionals of the game. Not only is he a great footballer, he is also a fantastic human being and a great role model to our younger members of the team.
“I am delighted he has extended his contract and I would like to take this opportunity to wish Michael all the best for his well-deserved testimonial match next Sunday.”
Manchester United will be hoping to use the lure of Champions League football to attract some top talent to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window after their Europa League win confirmed their spot in the group stage for next season.
BREAKING NEWS; This Paris Saint Germain STAR holding out for a move to Manchester United
The experienced midfielder helped PSG on their way to becoming Coupe de France champions on Saturday night but admitted that he doesn’t know whether his future lies in France or elsewhere.
Talking after PSG’s dramatic late victory over Angers, Matuidi said:
“I don’t know yet. I am feeling good in Paris. It’s hard as you don’t know the real position of the club. There is no decision taken so far.

“Honestly, I don’t want to lie, I don’t know yet. I am feeling good in Paris.
“Even if in the future I should leave, Paris stays the club of my heart. It would always be like that.”
The Sun had previously reported last summer that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wanted to bring the 30-year-old to Old Trafford, and that move looks to be edging closer this year.
What could Matuidi bring to Old Trafford?
Often operating in a more defensive role in the midfield for PSG. Matuidi often plays an almost N’Golo Kante-esque role in the middle of the park, plugging the gaps between defence and attack.
His immense work-rate and energy levels leaves him able to act as the perfect box-to-box midfielder, rarely running out of stamina and working tirelessly until the very final whistle is blown in a match.
Although Manchester United’s midfield options are hardly dwindling at present, this ability to relentlessly run throughout the 90 minutes offers something that United’s current crop simply can’t match at present.
The 30-year-old also has an impressive left-foot on him for a so-called defensive midfielder, finding the target 23 times in just over 200 appearances for PSG and an added eight times for France.
Matuidi is also part of a rare crop of world-class footballers that are as intelligent on the field as they are physical, cleverly making movements to create space for teammates in the final third of the field, and his ability to anticipate the pattern of opposition play is crucial to his high rate of ball-winning.
There’s a tenacity to his play – both inside his own half and the opposition half – that would lend himself superbly to the high tempo of the Premier League, and he could prove to be a thorn in many a top side.
During his early days at PSG there were talks of him being able to emulate the style of legendary French midfielder Claude Makelele, and after a successful career it’s easy to see where the comparisons are.
BAD NEWS FOR CHELSEA; Chelsea star Fabregas unhappy with being dropped, doubt cast over future

Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has spoken about his disappointment over being dropped for the FA Cup final, and claimed that he feels he deserved a place due to his form in recent months.
Fabregas was on the bench for the game against Arsenal, and came on late into the game when Chelsea needed to turn things around, yet didn’t really have a huge amount of time to do very much.
Not only that, but the midfielder spoke about Conte and how the manager obviously wants the best for the team, but you get the feeling the Spaniard won’t stay for much longer if he doesn’t get more playing time.
Cesc said: “I was in great form and it was a shame I didn’t start the game. I was playing very well and the team was winning, scoring a lot of goals and defending well.
“That is football, you have to accept decisions. It is a bad day and a shame because we wanted to win. The most important thing is the team didn’t win.
“Sometimes it is all about the coach’s decision. I don’t think I could have done much more this season, it is the coach’s decision and you have to respect that.
“I’m sure he wants the best for the team and if he thinks that is the way to go you have to go with it, we are a team. It is between him and me. I have nothing against Antonio, he has done a fantastic job.
“Of course every player wants to play more, it is in the genes of a winner and I am one of them. I’m here for whatever the team needs and I have shown that during the season.”
Moving on?
Of course, while Cesc has claimed he wants to be there for whatever the team needs, putting his own career at risk and sitting on the bench at his age might not be what he wants.
One thing is for sure – should Cesc decide to leave Chelsea, or even put the feelers out he might want to, there will be a host of clubs both in England and abroad that will be keen on landing him.
