DEAL CLOSE: CHELSEA ON THE VERGE OF ANNOUNCING AGREEMENT FOR A WORLD CLASS WINGER

Out-of-favour Chelsea winger Kenedy will finalize his loan transfer to Newcastle next week, according to stories from the Telegraph.

The South American has been widely expected to make a move to St James’ Park this January. However, the agreement has been held as Chelsea look to complete their own transfer business.

Antonio Conte wanted to keep the winger at the club for cover. However, the move to let Kenedy leave the club could suggest the West Londoners are close to signing his successor.

Rafa Benitez wishes that Chelsea’s deal to secure Ross Barkley from Everton will be enough to persuade Conte to push through a deal next week.

Newcastle were linked with Kenedy, who can play as a left-back and as a winger, during the summer, however, Chelsea kept him at the club.

The footballer had a disruptive pre-season that saw him sent home from a pre-season tour of China for disciplinary problems.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are eyeing up a move for defender Andreas Christensen in their race of a new central player, according to a story.

The 21-year-old has got lots of praise from manager Antonio Conte since breaking into Blues’ first team, after a two-year loan spell in the Bundesliga.

Conte said to being ‘surprised’ by the speed of Dane’s development, having removed David Luiz to become a regular in the centre of defence over the past few of months.

The Blues may face competition to keep Christensen at Stamford Bridge, Although, as The Mirror reports that the defender’s displays have not gone ignored in Catalonia.

Te La Liga giants have long held an interest in the Blues’ academy player, and the report claims that the Premier League giants are now in a hunt against time to offer him a new deal before a rival club makes a concrete offer.
