Mahrez allowed to leave training to complete Deadline Day transfer

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has been allowed to leave Algeria’s training camp to complete a Deadline Day transfer.
The winger handed in a transfer request to the Foxes at the end of last year, but so far has yet to secure a transfer away from the club.

However, over night, the Algerian National team released a statement that the winger had been released from international duty in order to complete a transfer.

The statement mentions nothing of what club he has gone to join, but reports from around Europe have narrowed it down to three clubs.

French newspaper L’equipe claim that Mahrez will jet from Algeria to Paris where he will be centrally located to finalise a move.

They claim that Barcelona, Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in the winger, and they will all battle it out for his services during the course of today.

Spanish publication AS claim that Barcelona have informed Mahrez that he is the clubs Plan B in case they cannot secure a deal to sign Philippe Coutinho and also mention that the fee is likely to be around €50m (£44m).
Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked, but we are unable to find reliable sources to suggest that either have made a late move. Leicester meanwhile insist they have not received a bid in over three weeks for Mahrez, and no new bids have been received in the last few hours.
