Manchester United are prepared to offer Luke Shaw as makeweight in a proposed deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose. The 27-year-old has recently hinted that he could move north this summer thus providing a boost to the Red Devils.

According to The Daily Record, Jose Mourinho is looking into a deal for the left wing-back after knowing his desire to win trophies during the prime of his career.

The Special One rotated between Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young and Luke Shaw depending on fitness and match situations last term, and he is now on the lookout for an established campaigner.

Shaw’s attitude had been an issue for Mourinho during the course of last season, and The Record suggests that the former Southampton graduate could be reunited with Mauricio Pochettino at the Wembley.

The 22-year-old has on multiple occasions been linked with a move to the north London club but it is still unclear whether Spurs would entertain a part-exchange deal with chairman Daniel Levy reluctant on losing key first-team players.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are on the cusp of securing their fourth signing of the transfer window with Paris Saint-Germain’s Serge Aurier having already finalised personal terms over a five-year contract.
