Man Utd Transfer News LIVE updates: Gareth Bale move ruled out, Rose latest, Aurier

Tottenham star Danny Rose
Ian Wright discusses Manchester United's title chances. Ian Wright is adamant Jose Mourinho must have no excuses if he fails to deliver the title for Manchester United this season.

Jose Mourinho has splashed out close to £150million on new players, with Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic coming through the door.

And Wright thinks Mourinho simply has to deliver the title, considering the amount of money he has invested in signing players.

“When you’re United manager it’s a pre-requisite to managing a club of that stature,” Wright told Sky Sports.“The amount Jose has spent, and the fact his second season at a club is normally a good one, then he has to win it.”"I think so," he said referring to whether Bale's inclusion meant he would not be allowed to leave.

"The club wants him, the manager wants him, and, more importantly, he wants the club."For me, it is game over. I think now everybody knows he is going to stay."

Paul Scholes admits he was surprised to see Chelsea sell Nemanja Matic to Manchester United this summer.

Scholes said on BT Sport: “Big signings I think. I really like the Matic signing. That was the one that surprised me a little bit. It made you wonder why did Chelsea sell him?

“He brings aggression to United’s midfield which is something I think they have been lacking.

“I think he’s very similar in a way to Michael Carrick in a controlling midfielder, but what he brings what Michael doesn’t bring is a little bit of aggression which as I say he gets to the ball, he tackles, he allows other people to play."

Gareth Bale STARTS for Real Madrid in the Super Cup tonight in a move which looks to dash Manchester United's hopes of signing him this summer. But with the Wales star selected for tonight's games Zidane has shown his cards.

Manchester United have seen their odds slashed by the bookies to sign Tottenham star Danny Rose.
The Red Devils are reportedly in the market for a new left-back this summer, with Jose Mourinho still unsure over injured Luke Shaw.

Reports have surfaced this week that United are keen to renew their interest in England international Rose, who they wanted in January.

And bookmakers Betfair suggest a deal could happen, having slashed United's odds of signing Rose from Bale would win league - Fletcher
Gareth Bale would lead Manchester United to the Premier League title if he joined from Real Madrid this summer, according to former Red Devils midfielder Darren Fletcher.

United boss Jose Mourinho yesterday admitted he would attempt to sign the Welshman if he did not play for Real in the European Super Cup clash against his side tonight.

“Not only would they be title favourites, but people would be expecting the title," Fletcher said on talkSPORT."That is the sort of level that signing is. It is the next-level signing. Ultimately it's all about Gareth staying fit as well."

Gareth Bale is not thinking about a transfer to Manchester United - judging by his social media activity. United boss Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and captain Sergio Ramos have all had their say on his potential move to Old Trafford. But Bale doesn’t appear to be taking much notice, last night posting a picture on his social media accounts alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in training with the message: “Super Cup time #HalaMadrid”.

And today Bale posted a video of himself taking on BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey at an electronic boxing punchbag. Bale won both rounds against Humphrey and looked like he was enjoying the victory, writing: “The @btsport #HardestHits..Round One.... @mrjakehumphrey sorry!”

Gareth Bale’s move to Manchester United has been rubbished one of the Real Madrid superstar's representatives. TV presenter Jim White said on talkSPORT: "I've been speaking to one of his representatives and its not all its cracked up to be. "Is it likely to happen? It certainly doesn't seem that way. "I've been speaking to one of Bale's representatives [and I asked] is it likely? Would he move? "He text back: 'Why would he? Also I don't talk about rubbish journalism.'"
