Five-year contract agreed as Man United continue to work towards fourth summer signing: report

Manchester United have apparently agreed to a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain right-back, Serge Aurier. That’s what The Sun writes, who quote Goal journalist, Loic Tanzi. The French reporter also added that United would have to sort out a work permit for the Ivorian.




At this point in time, no fee has been agreed between the clubs, but it looks as though Jose Mourinho is making swift process in pursuit of his fourth summer signing.


Antonio Valencia is a stellar right-back, but he certainly needs help. We have no real strength in depth in a key area of the field, and Aurier would bring an awful lot to the table.


The Ivory Coast international is only 24 yet it feels as though he has been around for quite some time. United won’t have it all their own way though, as Chelsea are also showing an interest.


One key issue surrounding the transfer is an ongoing legal situation. Aurier was apparently found guilty of assaulting a police officer outside a nightclub, and the Red Devils are waiting on a decision to be made following an appeal.


For me though, he’d be a good addition if the move happens. However, time is the transfer window is running out pretty quickly.
