MANCHESTER UNITED will keep Andreas Pereira for the forthcoming season with Jose Mourinho impressed by his pre-season performances, according to reports.

Pereira made his Manchester United debut under former manager Louis van Gaal after years of blossoming for the club’s reserves.

However, upon succeeding Van Gaal last summer, Jose Mourinho opted to send the Brazilian out on loan.

Pereira’s stock rose during an impressive display at Spanish side Granada - scoring five goals despite the club’s relegation to the Segunda Vision.

The youngster has followed that up by shining during the club’s pre-season fixtures, providing the assist for Romelu Lukaku’s bullet header against Norwegian side Valerenga.

say Mourinho has been so impressed he has now shelved plans for the 21-year-old to go out on loan again.

Several clubs have supposedly enquired about loan deals for Pereira but Mourinho intends to keep him in his ranks for next season.

However, the player himself is in favour of a temporary move away from Old Trafford should he struggle for game time.

Speaking yesterday, Pereira admitted he was happy with his displays and was targeting a spot in Mourinho’s starting line-up.
