The German is out of contract at the end of this season and has yet to renew his current deal with the Reds. Despite this, the Merseyside club opted not to sell him this summer.

Should the player choose to run down his contract, he will leave the club on a free transfer. The 23-year-old Can has started all of Liverpool’s three Premier League games thus far and the club will be hoping that he decides to extend his deal.
He has also been linked with moves to Juventus, Bayern Munich whom he previously played for as well as Chelsea.
Should the player choose to leave, Liverpool would prefer that he joins a club outside of England to avoid joining one of their fierce rivals. Meanwhile Barcelona ace Arda Turan has also been linked with a move to United.
