Shocking! see who is included in Manchester united champions league squad

Manchester United manager José Mourinho isn’t expecting Zlatan Ibrahimović to be up to match fitness until after the conclusion of the Champions League group stage games, but that hasn’t prevented the Swedish striker from being included in Mourinho’s first European squad selection.

Ibrahimović is one of two surprise inclusions, the other being that of striker James Wilson. The 21-year-old — who scored a brace on his league debut under Ryan Giggs back in 2014 — looked set to be leaving United this summer, but he has remained at Old Trafford beyond the closing of the transfer window, and has been handed squad number 29.

Other than that, there are no surprise inclusions or omissions. Marcus Rashford has not been named in the squad, but is young enough that he will nevertheless be eligible to play in all European fixtures.

Goalkeepers: David De Gea, Sergio Romero.

Defenders: Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Victor Lindelöf, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw.

Midfielders: Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matić, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick, Ashley Young, Jesse Lingard, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Juan Mata.
