FG's Social Investment Programmes Secure Nigerians' Inalienable Right To Life – VP Osinbajo

•Strategic Implementation Plan for National Home-grown Feeding launched
The constitutional and philosophical underpinnings for the N500B Social Investment Programmes of the Buhari presidency is a mandate without which the inalienable right to life guaranteed Nigerians by the Constitution becomes meaningless.

Put differently, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, unless government invests significantly in getting people out of poverty, and address other critical issues affecting children and other vulnerable groups, the inalienable right to life provided for in the Nigerian Constitution is meaningless.

“It is a victory for a point of view namely that the inalienable right to life confirmed in the Nigerian Constitution is meaningless in a society where large numbers are poor, if government does not invest significantly in getting people out of poverty and address the health and education issues of children and other vulnerable groups”, Prof. Osinbajo stated at the launching of the strategic implementation plan of the first of its kind National Home-grown School Feeding Programme, one of the 5 social investment schemes of the presidency.

Addressing a gathering of Governors, State Commissioners, representatives of international donors and partners, top Federal Government officials and civil society groups at the State House’s Banquet Hall, the Vice President said the Strategic Plan sets out the partnership arrangement on how federal, state, and local governments are to synergize towards achieving the primary objectives of the School Feeding Programme.

He noted that the plan will only work with the cooperation of Federal, State and Local tiers of governments, while also emphasizing need for the buy-in of the people.
Said he: “it is called ‘Home Grown School Feeding’ for the reason that it must be owned by the people for whom it has been designed”.

Speaking on the theme: “Stimulating Socio-Economic Growth Through The National Home Grown School Feeding Programme” at the occasion, Vice President Osinbajo said the Federal Government’s variant of the programme is not just a social welfare scheme which gives handouts to the poor, but “a direct economic benefit to the target groups and the economy as a whole”.

Vice President revealed that the scheme would indeed bring real change to the lives of over 20 million children nationwide, adding it would equally “create the multiplier effect on the local economies in communities where these schools are located by boosting agriculture, entrepreneurship and employment”.

Stating four major benefits of the programme, he said it would:

- improve school enrolment and completion and cut current dropout rate estimated at 30% while reducing child labour;
- improve child nutrition and health;
- increase local agricultural production and;
- will create jobs which would invariably lift families over the poverty line into a bright future.

Vice President Osinbajo who spoke about Federal Government’s responsibility to part-fund the scheme stated that it has also secured technical support for the scheme. He praised the development partners, financial institutions educational institutions and civil society groups for their support and assistance

I can never go back to my ex-husband" - Ayo Adesanya,

During an Interview with Sun News, Nollywood actress, Ayo Adesanya has revealed that she can never go back to her ex husband.

She also spoke about her future relationship and that she was still willing to try out marriage and a woman who loves peace a lot.

Any new thing we should expect from you?
Yes sure! I’m coming up with my own production. It’s going to be a fantastic one. I have been in some new TV series as well as some musical videos, and hopefully more are coming. As you know, I haven’t featured on a music video before, but I had that privilege this year, so it’s something I’m excited about. I have done like two now.
Are you gradually taking a dive into music?
(Laughs) I can’t say but expect the unexpected. Anything can happen, no one can tell. I might decide to give it a trial.

Obviously, this year holds better things for you
Without being told, I know this year would be far better than last year. It’s going to be awesome. I know it would surely get better before the end of the year.

Yoruba actresses seem confined within the indigenous movie circles, do you agree with that?
I do both English and Yoruba movies. I think, in my case, it’s almost the same. This year, I have done majorly English movies. I don’t think I’m confined to only indigenous movies.

You are one of the most beautiful and sought after actresses, what’s your beauty routine?
I don’t do much. I just clean my face and rub whatever I want to rub. But majorly, I take very good care of my face, especially my eyes. I do water, I do lemon and I visit the spa a lot. I don’t take those things serious but I believe that I’m blessed.

What do you do in your spare time?
I read a lot and I also watch news on TV. Whenever I’m not shooting, I try as much as possible to relax at home with family.

Talking about family, are there chances you’ll go back to your ex-husband?
(Screams) No. Never! You people have started looking for trouble again. Well, that’s all I can say. Never!

Even for the sake of your son that looks so much like his father?
Please, my son looks like me. He is my replica. So, stop saying otherwise.

When do you intend giving marriage another shot?
I don’t know. Anything can happen. But why not, indeed marriage is a beautiful thing.

What lessons did you learn from your previous marriage?
I have learnt a lot with the experience. I learnt to take things easy. Most of the things I learnt will be applied in any new relationship that I’m going into. I will also make sure I check out some qualities in that man before I go into relationship with him.

What makes you happy?
Peace! I love peace! I love when everything and everyone is at peace, it gives me extra joy. My family at peace, my friends at peace, I’m at peace, then I’m as happy as a bird.

Are you saying you lacked peace in your former marriage?
I didn’t say that oh! But I like peace a lot. When there’s no peace but troubles around me, I run.

Bearded lady feels sexier after ditching shaving after 26 years to grow facial hair

A bearded lady has ditched her razor to let her facial hair grow free - and says she's never felt sexier.
Rose Geil, 39, started shaving aged just 13 after noticing her excess body hair.

The devastated teenager, from Oregon, quickly realised she would have to shave every day to keep the stubble at bay.

But after years of shaving, plucking and expensive laser removal procedures, Rose has now decided to accept her whiskers - and couldn't be happier, Mirror UK reports.

She said:

"Growing my beard has made me more confident.I feel pretty with my beard, and I never felt pretty before. It feels amazing being me."

Rose first noticed hairs sprout in her sideburns when she reached puberty.Soon hairs began appearing on her chin, upper lip and cheeks and Rose would have to wake at the crack of dawn to remove the evidence.
Rose said

"I don't think my parents knew how to support me when they found out about my shaving.

"My mum and I had a brief conversation about needing to stop shaving but of course I knew by then I couldn't. I knew I would never be able to stop.

"My mum was supportive enough and took me to see a doctor and I was placed on birth control pills and other medication but it wasn't really effective."
And in order to have relationships with men Rose had to overcome the hurdle of showing her body hair to her partners.

She said:

"Revealing my body hair in any relationship was of course very scary and difficult and I was lucky enough and had some understanding partners in my early twenties.
"It was more of an issue for me just being self conscious and worrying about revealing myself and facing rejection."
But finally eight months ago Rose ditched the razors for good.

She said: "I was emotionally drained from trying to hide my beard every day and feeling like I was failing miserably.

"Growing my beard was an incredible experience. It was very difficult, daily emotionally and physically in the beginning because it was very uncomfortable, itchy and crawly."I had to fight the urge to shave."

But after six weeks Rose sported a full beard and had grown to love it.
And her friends and family were fans too.
She said: "All of my friends and family are incredibly supportive - they really had no idea how much I struggled and how much it was affecting me.

"People on the street do look at me and do a double take, but their reactions are either positive or neutral.

"I have had people approach me in public and wanted to meet me and shake my hand and tell me I'm brave and courageous and even an inspiration."

But the strongest reaction is online, where Rose's Instagram account has found hundreds of admirers.

Rose said: "Some of them get a little carried away, marriage proposals, offering plane tickets to come visit, inappropriate pictures you name it."

Brother Opens Up: No One Could Have Stopped Keshi's Death

Former Nigeria Head coach Stephen Keshi's brother, Ado, says he was destined to die and nothing would have stopped his death. The brother said the love he had for his late wife was very strong:

“It is true, my brother has passed on. He has gone to meet his wife. It’s very painful, but it is what God has destined. Not even 10 million soldiers would have stopped it. But we give glory to God.
Keshi never recovered from the death of Kate; they were inseparable.
He has gone to meet Kate. Since the wife died Keshi has kept on mourning and has been in sorrow. All these time Keshi has been acting, giving the impression that he was fine and man enough to bear the sorrow but the truth actually is that he was down and in pain over the death of his wife.

From companionship to cooking and other domestic matters nobody could be like his wife to him; they were irreplaceable. The man just went to join her.”

Niger Delta Militants Release Full Demands To Stop Bombings

A new militant group, Ultimate Warriors of Niger Delta, has demanded that 60 percent of Nigeria’s oil blocks be given to the Niger Delta region, threatening to attack oil and gas facilities if the Federal Government does not accede to the request.

The group, which spoke for the first time on Wednesday, also demanded that work at the $16billion Export Processing Zone, which is also called Delta Gas City Project, must commence in earnest.

The militants gave the Federal Government a two-week ultimatum to ensure that their demands were met in order to engender a lasting ceasefire in the region.
Spokesperson for the group, Sibiri Taiowoh, in a statement, said if the government truly wanted peace in the region, it should award 60 percent of the country’s oil blocks to the people of the Niger Delta.

The group also demanded for the commencement of academic activities at the Maritime University in Okerenkoko, Tompolo's village, established during the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The group threatened to shut down the facilities of multinationals oil companies operating in the area.

The Ultimate Warriors claimed to be behind some of the recent pipeline bombings in the country.

The statement read, “We want 60 percent of the oil blocks to be allocated to the Niger Delta just as the Federal Government allocated 80 percent to those who are not from the oil-producing area and just as 50 percent of the nation’s resources was used to develop the non-oil regions when we were producing cocoa and groundnut as main economic resources.

“The same 50 percent should be used to develop the Niger Delta region because we are the ones suffering the brunt of oil pollution and degradation.

“We are behind the recent pipeline bombings in the Niger Delta region and I can assure you we will not stop until the Export Processing Zone project and the Maritime University are completed and start operations.”

So So Sad! See The Boy who Has a skin condition That is Slowly Turning Him Into A Stone

This really got me worried...what a life! Ramesh looked like any other bouncing baby boy when his mother Nar Kumari held her little boy for the first time. SADLY, just 15 days after she got him home, her son's skin began to peel and was replaced by thick, black scales which have been slowly and painfully entombing him since.

His rare skin disorder, which is slowly turning him into a stone statue, has robbed the 11-year-old boy of his ability to walk and even talk.

And for a long time it seemed there was no hope for a cure, leaving his desperate mother and her husband Nanda helpless to do anything besides watch him slowly turn to stone...

Mr Nanda told Mail Online: ‘His skin started peeling off 15 days after he was born and then new skin began to grow very thick. It hardened and turned black, we had no idea what to do about it. No one helped us.'

In fact, doctors in Baglung, the remote Nepalese region where the family live, seemed bemused by what they told them was a 'fungal infection' and said they couldn't help.

All the while, Ramesh was getting worse.
‘By this fifth birthday he began to say his body was in pain and he couldn’t walk,' said Nanda. 'He’s never really been able to explain anything to us either.

'He is only able to inform us when he’s hungry or wants to use the toilet. He used to sit and cry but we didn’t know what was hurting him or how to help him.

‘Any young child would see him and run away crying. It was hard for him and us to watch.’

At six, the condition had left him unable to walk, and so he has never been to school. Even when his parents did discover the cause, an extremely rare condition called Ichthyosis, they were unable to do anything to ease their son's suffering.

'We did not have enough money and had no choice than to keep Ramesh home and do our best.’
But then help came from British singer Joss Stone.

Ramesh's luck changed when a video of him struggling was shared on social media - and it was spotted by the acclaimed Nepalese singer Sanjay Shrestha, who happened to be helping Stone organise a concert.

According to Daily mail, he is now receiving treatment at the Kathmandu Medical College, where doctors remain hopeful they may be able to make his life easier.

Parents are outraged after transexual boy beats girls at track event

The parents of teenage girls are outraged that a boy was allowed to compete with biological females at a track and field event in Alaska.

The boy who identifies as a female easily outran the female competition at a high-profile track meet last Friday.

According to Life Site News, Nattaphon Wangyot qualified for the 100- and 200-meter finals at the state competition. He ran the 100-meter race in 13.14, easily beating the biological female competition.

Last month, the Obama administration ordered all public schools to implement his transgender policy that allows boys to shower with girls and access the girls restroom facilities.

At least 11 states filed federal lawsuits against Obama. And a Michigan school district stopped following Obama’s policy after one parent pulled his sons out of an elementary school.

The Alaska Schools Activity Association (ASAA) has no transgender policy. So the decision to follow President Obama’s ill-advised transgender policy is left up to the individual school districts.

Per Obama’s policy, boys who pretend to be girls do not have to go undergo surgery or take females hormones to suppress their male hormones.

“It is not fair, and it is not right for our female athletes, and we have a responsibility to protect our girls that have worked really hard – that are working toward college scholarships,” said Stephanie Leigh Golmon Williams of the Alaska Family Council.

Jennifer Van Pelt’s daughter, Alison, missed out on winning a medal at the track meet because she came in 5th. Medals are only awarded to the top 4 runners.

“We had no idea she was running against a male until after the race was over,” Van Pelt wrote in the comments section of an article on the story.

“How do you explain to her that not only does she need to train to beat her fellow female athletes now she should also train to beat the males?” she wrote.

“Males are physically stronger than females. That’s a scientific fact,” she told another media outlet.

“[T]his case forces the question that always pops up when one groups’ ‘rights’ conflict with another’s. Whose rights win? Whose rights are more important?” asked Larry O’Connor at HotAir.com.

Sextuplets whose photoshoot with parents went viral are now grown up

In June 2010, a set of sextuplets (Rozonno Jr., Isaac, Josiah, Elijah, Madison and Olivia) were born Columbus, Ohio. Their parents, Mia and Rozonno McGhee had beautiful photo shoot with the babies and the photo went viral.

It inspired a docuseries named Six Little McGhees which showcased the parents as they juggled marriage and raised 6 kids.

The couple, who met while in high school, both come from deprived backgrounds; they both suffered emotional abuse and physical neglect. Rozonno grew up without any contact from his father and with a drug addicted mother. When Mia was a teenager, her mother threw her out of the family home, forcing the girl to drop out of school to support herself. The McGhees were married for 10 years and suffered several failed pregnancies before they were able to become parents, having sextuplets in one fell swoop.

It has been six years now and they just had another photo shoot to celebrate. The sextuplets, four boys and two girls are grown now. See the beautiful photo below
