Update On Kano Boys College Raped By Unknown Men - School Has Been Shut Down

Yesterday, I brought a story a twitter user tweeted about boys being raped by unknown men in Kano. I had to do some digging into the news and yup, it is true! So, the Kano State Government has closed down Hassan Ibrahim Gwarzo private boarding School, Kano. This follows the uproar which greeted the alleged case of sodomy recorded at the college.

Acting Governor of the state, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, announced the closure of the school while inaugurating a 14-man committee to investigate the matter.

There was tension among parents and guardian of the students of the college, following a heart touching story aired yesterday by a private radio station on alleged rampant cases of sodomy in the college in which a 9-year JSS student of the college claimed he was overpowered and sexually violated by an unknown person.

Nigeria's economy may collapse in 90days- Gov. Fayose

Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has asked the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to address the nation on the state of the economy and stop propaganda. Speaking at the 22nd Convocation of the College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, on Friday, Fayose warned that unless drastic action is taken, the economy might collapse in the next three months. Fayose, who is the Visitor to the College, lamented the deplorable state of the nation’s economy, noting that rather than address it, the All Progressives Congress- led Federal Government has been employing propaganda to deal with the issue.

He said: “This is the time for the Federal Government to come out and tell Nigerians about the state of the economy rather than employ propaganda. “I foresee serious trouble ahead because in the next three months, the economy may collapse. Oil now sells in the region of $40 per barrel. Things have never been bad like this. When I returned from the Holy Land yesterday (Wednesday), I was told that Ekiti got N1.4bn whereas my wage bill per month is N2.6bn.”

He decried that Ekiti people don’t pay tax, wondering how government could work for the people with depleting allocation from the centre. Fayose advised both lecturers and students to promote morals, saying lecturers who sexually harass students cannot promote morals. In her convocation address, the Provost of the College, Professor Francisca Aadejana said a total of 70 students bagged Distinction out of over 2,000 graduating students for the regular NCE certificate. She said 29 others also bagged Distinction from Professional Diploma in Education which is affiliated to Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria

Appeal Court Rejects Umana's Petition

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has rejected the brief filed by Obong Umana Okon Umana and the All Progressive Congress (APC), Akwa Ibom State. The brief according to the court did not fulfil the basic requirements for filing of briefs of argument as it falls short of Order 6, section 8 of the Court of Appeal Rules.

The section provides that, “Twenty copies of all briefs in respect of the appeal shall be filed in Court. All such copies shall be endorsed for service on the other side which shall also be duly paid for by the party filing same”.
The Appeal court’s position is sequel to a complaint made by the Peoples Democratic Party and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that the copies of the briefs served them by the APC were not fully signed or endorsed by the court before being served and the court has also noted that filling fees were not paid.

The Akwa Ibom Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja recently upheld the election of Mr Udom Emmanuel as Governor of Akwa Ibom State and ordered for a re-run in 18 Local Government Areas. Dissatisfied by the tribunal’s judgement, the APC is appealing the decision.

The Appeal Court also reject the briefs over the documentary evidence presented by the petitioners was absolutely in proof of the respondent’s case.

The petitioner came to court originally and said that there was no election at all in the Akwa Ibom state. From paragraph 60 of their petition, they said there was no election and somewhere along the line, they now added that there was election in some local government, wards and units.

Evidence was called and they were manifest contradictions between the original case and the evidence laid in court they now went further to produce copious evidence in proof of the respondent case and in dis-proof of their allegations;

They Have Finished The Economy, We Can’t Pay 42 Ministers – President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his government and Nigeria can not afford to pay forty two ministers and that not all the minister nominees that have been screened will have portfolios.

More so, Mr President went on to say that the country Nigeria is ‘material and morally vandalized’.

"There use to be forty two ministers but I think we can barely keep half of that now because we can not afford it.
"Others may not be substantive ministers but they will seat in the cabinet because that is what the constitution said and we can’t operate outside the constitution. We are reducing the number of ministries we can’t afford to pay."

Buahri in an interview with Channels TV and NTA in New Delhi, India, said that some of those who will work in the team he is putting together were introduced to him by others that he trust.

Buhari while reacting to the divide in the National Assembly over Rotimi Amaechi’s confirmation as minister said he did not walk into the presidency alone hence he can not work alone and that some of those having problems at the National Assembly he has never meet them.

"This is team work I said I know people but there are people that I accept from other people in our team that I trust without even knowing them. I did not work into the presidency alone. I have to depend on all the three tiers of government from all part of the country."

Backing his 36 Minister nominees Buhari said that he can not work outside the constitution and that ministers must be appointed in conformity with the constitution of the Federal Government in that ministerial appointment must reflect the 36 states of the country.

Though representing states, some of the ministers will not have portfolios but will be part of the cabinet.

Buhari in the interview also said that the country has no money to pay salaries as the government had to seek the Central Bank governor to look for ways to pay states workers’ salaries.

"Where is the money? Do you know the Federal Government has to help twenty seven states out of thirty six to pay salaries? Nigeria can not pay salaries, Nigeria had to summon the Governor of the Central Bank to see how it could pay salaries not to talk of projects, agreement signed with foreign countries, counter funding and so on. The country was material vandalized and morally so

Court of Appeal dismisses Saraki's appeal.

The Federal Court of Appeal in Abuja has thrown out the suit filed by Senate President Bukola Saraki challenging the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal to try him for corruption. The court sat on Friday Morning after adjourning his case indefinitely. At the resumed hearing, the court dismissed all five issues raised by Senate President before it. The Abuja division of the Court of Appeal delivered the judgment in the appeal seeking to dismiss the 13-count criminal charge pending against the Senate President at the CCT.

Saraki who is facing a 13 count of false asset declaration when he was governor of Kwara state appealed to the court to stop his arrest by the Police and stay proceedings before the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, in two separate rulings, had refused the ex-parte applications brought by the Senate President seeking to stop his arrest by the Police and stay proceedings before the Code of Conduct Tribunal over alleged false assets declaration.

Saraki had wanted the Federal High Court to stop the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal from prosecuting him on the ground that it is only the Attorney General of the Federation that has the power to initiate criminal proceedings against him. Saraki was charged before the Code Of Conduct Tribunal, CCT to answer to allegations of corruption leveled against him by the conduct bureau.

He pled not guilty to all 13 charges leveled against him by the Conduct Bureau describing them as false and frivolous adding that charges were calculated to rubbish him. The Tribunal also adjourned Saraki’s trial till November 5th and 6th.

Photos of beauty queen saying 'thank you' to her mum will melt your heart

Khanittha 'Mint' Phaesang won the much coveted Miss Uncensored News Thailand and her first port of call was home, to go thank her mother for everything she had done for her. She was pictured kneeling near a row of wheelie bins in front of her mother.

The incredible picture shows Mint, 17, after she returned to her home in Amin, Thailand, decked out in her pageant gear which included a sparkling tiara and silk sash, along with impressively high golden heels and touching her mum's legs as she got on her knees by the rubbish which her mum makes a living from collecting and recycling.

In Mint's culture, kneeling in gratitude is the highest form of respect, and Mint said that she was never ashamed of working with her mum, who raised her alone, in the rubbish .

Khanittha said : "What I have today is because of my mother. She and I make a living by doing honest work, so there is no reason why I should feel inferior."
Thanks to the win, Mint has lined up work as a model for advertisements and acting, but she says her mum is unchanged by her success.
"The family will continue to be scavengers. My mother will still go and sort garbage and is not willing to let me help."

Well...

So, America 'Officially' Does Not Recognise The Titles 'Mother' And 'Father' Again!

Nawaoo! Due to the recent legalisation of gay marriages in America by the US Supreme Court...The American public sector is now officially not recognizing the titles of "Mother" and "Father".

Courts, schools and official public records will no longer provide recognition for the title "Mother" and "Father" in their move to appear more gender-neutral sensitive.

The move is also geared towards transgender individuals who prefer to be known as the opposite sex.

Instead of "Mother" and "Father" the US courts and other official record keeping offices will refer to parents as "Parent 1" and "Parent 2, which will cateri for same-sex and transgender parents.

My people, do you see what I am seeing?? These are truly the end times...

No Hiding Place! Billionaire Arrested For Bank Robbery He Committed 16 Years Ago (Photos)

Property tycoon in China has confessed to robbing a bank 16 years ago and using the money to start up his massive empire now worth billions.

According to Peoples Daily Online, Shi, the 53-year-old was arrested last week in the central China's Zhumadian City for a crime he committed in December 1999.

At the time five armed suspects broke into a bank in the city of Zhengzhou, injuring two clerks and walking away with 2.8 million yuan (£290,000) in cash.

On the morning of October 21, more than 80 undercover police investigators rushed to the Zhumadian, Henan province, and arrested five suspects including billionaire Shi.

Shi is said to be well known in Zhumadian for being an extremely powerful and successful property tycoon.

He runs a number of businesses including industrial real estates, development and trade companies, and leisure farms. All earning him a fortune. As well as property, he has billions invested in local businesses and often hosts regular charity events. All of this has influenced the community he lives in.

After he was arrested, Shi admitted to breaking into the bank armed with four suspects and stealing the money 16 years ago.

Shi told police, before the robbery in the early 1990’s he was not satisfied with his income as a construction worker. So he gathered a group of guys who were working as painters for a ‘secret job.’

Then for three months leading up to the raid they hatched a plan to rob the bank which included a well-designed escape route. Doing so they seriously injured a man was shot in the head and left in a pool of blood, and a woman. It is unclear what happened to her.

The whole process which involved the suspects dressed as business men took just five minutes. It was a case that shocked the whole country as no one has ever been arrested since it took place in 1999.

Many of the investigators working on the case are now retired but they never gave up. From a list of 158 suspects they eventually narrowed it down to five.16 years later the Zhengzhou City Public Security Bureau held a press conference to confirm the mystery of the 1999 bank robbery had successfully been solved.

A vital piece of evidence in the investigation was a hammer that was used to brake the bullet proof glass during the raid.
