Everybody lies…7 steps to getting the truth out of someone

According to Dr. Phil McGraw of popular health talk show ‘Dr Phil’, everyone lies. He says that people lie an average of three times in the first 10 minutes that they’re trying to get to know each other.

A recent survey revealed that men lie six times a day and women lie 3 times a day. Some lies are small (“You haven’t aged one bit!” or “Sorry I’m late, but traffic was horrible!”), but others, like infidelity, can destroy a relationship.

The truth is if you’re close to someone who isn’t trustworthy or you’re the one who’s not being transparent, you can start making a change with Dr. Phil’s 7 strategies below:

1. Start by Being Honest with Yourself: The most destructive lies we tell are the ones we tell ourselves. When you lie to yourself, you’re really crippling your ability to interact with the world because how you present yourself to the world impacts how you are treated in return.

2. Negotiate for What You Want — Don’t Just Try to Take it With a Lie: For example, if you want a baby, going off the pill and tricking your spouse into getting you pregnant is not the way to go! Every lie has a cost. Instead of going about it the wrong way, try pushing for what you want in a mature, straightforward way.

3. You Teach People How to Treat You: You are complicit in someone else’s deception when you are willfully blind. Is it clear as day that your partner is cheating but you turn a cheek? If you’re in denial, then you are teaching someone he can get away with lying to you. Are you willing to settle for what you’re doing, or do you want to teach someone that you deserve their respect?

4. People Who Have Nothing to Hide, Hide Nothing: If something doesn’t feel right to you, it probably isn’t. And for every rat you see, there could be 50 you can’t. When someone gets caught lying, it’s likely there are more.

5. You Can’t Change What You Don’t Acknowledge: Be real with yourself and with your partner. Be honest with yourself about whether somebody is using you or misrepresenting things to you. Of course that will be painful and could leave you feeling betrayed, but you can’t move forward until you recognize what’s going on. That takes courage and strength; you may surprise yourself with both when you start to get real.

6. Be Forthcoming When You Start a Relationship; Ask for the Same in Return: If you’ve got a secret, it’s probably going to come out eventually. So if you think things in your relationship might get serious, you might as well be honest from the beginning. Likewise, if you have trust issues because you’ve been burnt before, you might say from the get-go: “Listen, I’ve been deceived before. So if I seem a little stand-offish or a little suspicious, let me tell you why. I want you to understand where I’m coming from because I’ve got nothing to hide. I hope you’ll do the same.

7. Give a Loved One the Chance to Earn Your Trust Back — if He/She Deserves it: It is possible for your friend or partner to change, but he’s got to earn your trust back one step at a time while you have your eyes wide open. Once he owns it, stops justifying it, and shows that he’s willing and capable of building a new history, you can start trusting again

Woman Badly Bruises A 7 Year Olds Head For Eating At A Neighbor’s House (Photos)

The woman who shared the story said she met the little girl named Chinecherem, aged 7, at Aguda Police station on Monday morning when she went to sort out an issue at the station. The girl had bruises on her stomach, back and ankle… a very big lump on the head and could barely turn her neck.

On enquiry, she was told her ‘madam’ inflicted the injuries on her for eating at a neighbor’s house around 1:00pm on Sunday.

Chinecherem who could only speak Igbo language said she was very hungry and her madam told her to finish washing up her son's clothes and tidy up the house before eating. In the course of washing the clothes, she felt dizzy and told a neighbor who took her into her house and gave her some food. "Madam" must have strolled out and noticed the girl’s absence from her duty post which resulted to the battering.
It was concerned neighbor’s that brought the girl and the madam to the police station. The woman is currently cooling off her heels in the cell.

Pictured left is Chinecherem at the police station. Left is the little girl at the hospital after she was given a clean shave as the result of the injuries she sustained on the head from her caretaker’s beating.

Chinecherem was brought to Lagos last year by her madam. Her father is dead and her mother resides in the village. She is yet to be enrolled into a school.

It was learnt that Mciya was becoming fed up with Elsie's possessiveness and huge sexual appetite and had threatened to walk out of the relationship before she took the step to show him no one messes up with her.

Mciya told the police that Elsie had turned his life into a nightmare by physically abusing him and forcing him to have sex whenever she wanted but she allegedly told the police she sees nothing wrong with locking him in a room and using him as a sex slave.

Lagos State Needs Urgent Divine Intervention - Says Kumuyi

The Deeper Christian Life Ministry has said that Lagos State is under siege and needs urgent divine intervention.

The ministry said the high rate of robbery, cultism, drug abuse and corruption, among other ills, could have totally destroyed the state, but for God’s grace.

The church stated this on Wednesday at Gbagada, Lagos, while announcing a city-wide crusade, organized by the ministry in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.

The 20-day event, which is themed, ‘Supernatural Power of God’s Wonders,’ will begin on September 8 and cover 17 local government areas of the state.

The church’s state Moderator, Pastor Joseph Fasanmi, described the event as unprecedented, adding that the ministry’s General Overseer, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, would be one of the men of God that would minister at the event.

He said, “The crusade will be unprecedented because its geographical spread will cover every nook and cranny of Lagos State, including Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry.”

Fasanmi said the alarming rate of crime in the state necessitated the crusade, adding that despite the change mantra of the present administration, real change remained elusive to the people of Lagos State.

Ndigbo Slams Buhari Over Appointment Of SSG, And Others

The Ohaneze Youth Council, OYC, has expressed deep anger over President Muhammadu Buhari’s latest appointment for the positions of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, as well as the Chief of Staff to the President.

The group said recent developments had indications that Buhari was pursuing ethnic agenda and that he was not ready to accommodate Ndigbo in his government.

President Buhari had after several months of keeping Nigerians in suspense, announced the appointment of Engr. Babachir David Lawal from Adamawa State as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation; as well as Alhaji Abba Kyari for the position of Chief of Staff to the President.

Others appointed included Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (rtd.)- Comptroller-General, Nigerian Customs Service; Mr. Kure Martin Abeshi – Comptroller-General, Nigerian Immigration Service; Senator Ita S.J. Enang – SSA to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate) and Hon. Suleiman A. Kawu -SSA to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of representatives).

None of the positions came the way of the South-East region. In a reaction, the Ohaneze Youth Council said the President had demonstrated his hatred for Ndigbo, even after he had said he belonged to nobody but belonged to everybody.

President of the of the OYC, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, in a press statement jointly signed with the group’s National Public Relations Officer, Hon. Obinna Adibe, said the appointments were totally unacceptable to Ndigbo, maintaining that they violated the principle of federal character, which is enshrined in the Nigerian constitution.

“We stand to condemn this glaring hatred for Ndigbo by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. We recall that apart from several other appointments, Buhari’s government has also appointed Service Chiefs and in a similar manner, he sidelined the South-East zone.

“As if that was not enough, the long-awaited position of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, has come at last and this government deemed nobody from the South-East qualified enough to occupy that position, which was earlier zoned to Ndigbo.

“We are indeed shocked by this turn of events, which are totally at variance with Mr. President’s earlier stand that he was for nobody but that he was for everybody. We are at a loss where this statement fits in, considering all the actions he has taken so far, which are all against the interest of Ndigbo.

“Where is the justice; where is the equity; where is the one Nigeria? How long shall Ndigbo be pushed to the walls?

“The Ohaneze Youth Council is saying it loud and clear that these appointments are unacceptable to us and we urge Mr. President to reverse them, otherwise it would appear that there is a grand-design to annihilate the Igbos out of the political and economic system in this country.”

Isiguzoro further stated that apart from the neglect Ndigbo had suffered in the area of appointments, it was also curious that the Buhari-led government had suspended work on the second Niger Bridge.

He stressed that “all these are pointers to the fact that we are becoming endangered species in Nigeria. The Second Niger Bridge is a project that touches on the economic life of the entire South-East and we find it curious that the Federal Government is not ready to attach any priority to it.

“We use this medium to urge Mr. President to right these wrongs and move the country forward as one. Tribalism has never paid Nigeria and this period will not make any difference”.

Angry APC Leaders Expresses Their Disappointment At Buhari For Appointing More Northerners

Leaders of the ruling the All Progressives Congress on Thursday expresses their disappointment over the announcement of new appointments by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Leaders of the APC, who spoke to The Punch, complained that the appointments tilted in favour of the North and said the party must move fast to cope with the backlash of expected rumblings in the polity.

“The President does not consult before making most of these appointments and I can tell you that Nigerians are going to term the party and the President as a northern party and the President of Northern Nigeria,” a leader of the party said to one of our correspondents late on Tuesday.

Three top national officers of the APC, who spoke with Punch on condition of anonymity shortly after the announcements were made, wondered why the President was appointing only northerners to positions to the detriment of the southerners.

They said that the President was already giving the party a bad name among Nigerians. They said they had hoped that he would learn from the criticisms that trailed his first appointments where more northerners were appointed into sensitive positions than southerners.

Before the latest appointments, the President had also named only one southerner among the initial nine appointments he made.

The northerners in the first appointments are the Director-General of the State Services, Lawal Daura; Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mrs. Amina Zakari; the Director, Department of Petroleum Resources, Mr. Mordecai Danteni Baba Ladan; and the Accountant-General of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris.

Also in the first appointments are the President’s Chief Security Officer, Abdulrahman Mani; State Chief of Protocol, Mallam Abdullahi Kazaure; Aide- De-Camp, Lt. Col. Muhammed Abubakar; and the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

Only the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, hailed from Osun Staten in the South-West.

Another APC leader said the party must devise a way of managing the backlash that would follow the appointments.

He said, “Though the President did not get much votes from the South-East but we must not neglect the zone in key appointments.

“Even the South-West that supported and was the backbone of the party, what are we giving the zone in appreciation? We need to be careful before the party is destroyed.”

It was gathered that some leaders of the party were already thinking of having an enlarged meeting where the appointments would be reviewed.

But another senior member of the APC said such a meeting, if it would hold at all, would have to wait until the party holds its Kogi State governorship primary on Saturday.

A member of the state executive of APC in a South-West state, said the appointments were lopsided against the South.

He said, “When President Olusegun Obasanjo took over, you saw balance in appointments as he reflected federal character. President Goodluck Jonathan too reflected a semblance of balance. Buhari is pursuing a northern agenda. This is the same agenda pursued by the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, when everything was pro-North. Buhari made six appointments at a go and five of them are northerners.”

The Speaker of one of the Houses of Assembly in the South-West, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also described the new appointments as shocking.

The Speaker, who is a member of the APC, said, “This is shocking. It doesn’t speak well at all. The South-West has been completely neglected and the South-East too. The South-West was neglected during the President Goodluck Jonathan years. The South-West must rise up against this.”

Similarly, an APC chairman in another South-West state, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said the list of the new appointees had left him perplexed.

The chairman said, “This is not good at all. Why should he choose everybody from the North? I am sure he did not confide in anybody before drawing up the list and making the announcement. We will continue to watch. It is condemnable.”

In the same vein, an APC member of the House of Representatives, said the leaders of the party in the South-West were shocked by Buhari’s latest appointments.

“He didn’t tell anybody. We are all shocked. The real shocker would be when he is going to appoint ministers. The only thing that would save us is that he is mandated constitutionally to choose from all states, otherwise, he would have chosen all the ministers too from the North,” the female member of parliament said.

The new SGF graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1979 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree and worked with the Delta Steel Company, Aladja, Nigerian External Telecommunications Limited and Data Sciences Limited before establishing his own ICT and Telecommunications consulting firm in 1990.

Kyari, the new Chief of Staff to the President, holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Warwick in Law and Sociology.

The new Comptroller-General of Customs, holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Criminology. He was military administrator of Kaduna State from 1996 to 1998.

Trafficking: How We Smuggle Cocaine Aboard Flights - Arik Air Staff

A staff of Arik Air has told the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency investigators how members of staff of the airline smuggle illicit drugs aboard flights.

Oliver Chibuzor, a catering loader at the airline who has been arrested by NDLEA officials, said they subvert airport security checks by concealing cocaine in catering supplies.

On Monday, Chika Udensi (above), a senior member of the Arik Air cabin crew‎, was arrested by UK Border Force officials with 20 kilograms of cocaine at Heathrow Airport in London.

Mr. Udensi, an air steward, allegedly concealed the cocaine which has an estimated street value of N100 million, within the “construction of‎ laptop bags,” according to the NDLEA.

‎In a statement on Thursday, the NDLEA quoted Mr. Chibuzor as telling narcotic investigators that he was introduced into the illicit drug business by Mr. Udensi.

“Whenever Chika gives me the drug, I will hide it in catering supplies. Chika knows where to collect the drug inside the flight,” ‎the agency quoted Mr. Chibuzor as stating during interrogation by investigators.

“They pay me N400, 000 per bag. I was expecting N1.2 million for the three bags that I smuggled into the aircraft,” he said.

The anti-narcotics agency said that preliminary investigation revealed that both Messrs Udensi and Chibuzor had been infiltrated by a suspected drug cartel.

Mr. Chibuzor, who hails from Isiala Ngwa North local government of Abia State, is a graduate of Business Administration and was employed by Arik Air in 2009, according to the NDLEA.

‎Ahmadu Giade, NDLEA’s Chairman, said he had directed that henceforth all airport workers must be extensively searched.

“The agency has taken drastic measures to avert infiltration of airport workers by criminal syndicates,” Mr. Giade said.

“Airline officials and airport workers shall be subjected to comprehensive search. The NDLEA will resist any act capable of undermining security at all entry and exit points,” he said.

Mr. Giade also said that‎ all catering trucks, luggage trucks, aviation fuel tankers, machines and personnel whose duty directly or indirectly relates to tarmac and flight operations would be subjected to full screening.

As part of its investigation, the NDLEA said its operatives had searched ‎the rented apartment of Mr. Udensi in Ejigbo, a Lagos suburb, where he lives with his mother and siblings. His wife and children are based in Canada.

The NDLEA also said that Mr. Udensi’s Range Rover car‎, which had been impounded and was parked at the airline’s premises, had been moved to the agency’s office as exhibit.

Update: Man Narrates How He Drugged, Butchered His Girlfriend’s Brother (Graphic)

More details have emerged on why 35 years old Steven Anowa, from Njikoka Local Government Area in Anambra State killed his girlfriend’s brother,we reported the story last month.

The suspect who is presently cooling his heels with the police in Akwa Ibom State, has related how he butchered 31-year-old Daniel Bassey Solomon, the brother of his girlfriend at his one-room apartment in Itu Street, Uyo, the state capital.

Solomon hailed from Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. His killer, who is in the habit of changing residences, had just packed from Uruan where he met and started dating Solomon’s sister, about two years ago.

Anowa, who has no perceptible means of livelihood, but lives a showy lifestyle, confessed that he invited the deceased to his home after he refused to repay the N750,000 he allegedly used to set up a barbing saloon for him (Solomon).
The deceased came to know him through his sister, which was why he funded his barbing saloon. In fact, the suspect had just relocated to Itu Street with just a bed and mattress when the wacky incident occurred.
The culprit confessed to have committed the act after inviting his friend, Solomon, to his house. Unknown to Solomon, who dozed off after gulping the bottle of beer, the suspect had spiked the drink. Anowa admitted that he called his victim on phone for an urgent meeting in his house.

He said
: “At about 3a.m, I decided to kill him. I gave him the first cut and the guy got up. I gave him a second one and then he died and I butchered him to parts.” He said he was riled because the deceased dared to raise his voice at him when he demanded payment of the N750,000 he purportedly loaned him over two years ago.“We reported the matter to SARS about two years ago and he agreed on a time frame to pay up the N750,000, but till today, he has refused to pay the money. “So when I invited him to my house that day, he started shouting and getting angry with me, so I killed him. I am not dealing on body parts, I only cut him to pieces to be able to carry him.”

The suspect said convinced that he had overpowered his victim, he brought out a rope and tied his neck to a bed in the one-room apartment so that even if he suddenly regained consciousness, he would not be able to escape. Subsequently, he stabbed him on the chest with a knife sharpened and kept for the purpose. He said Solomon died without much resistance. He said he used the machete to cut off the head and dismembered each of the body parts of his friend.

Achong confirmed the suspect’s claim that he entertained Solomon with a drugged beer, adding that it was not long before the deceased dozed, giving him the opportunity to tie him to a bed and stabbing him to death. He said police were able to track down the suspect because of the support of an informant, who kept contacting him on phone, just as the police kept tracking the calls.

He packed the parts in a sack and dragged it to Itu Road. He removed some body parts, dumped them in a place along School Road and hid the head in an abandoned dump site on the same Itu Road.”

Old but tough Buhari hits hard on Oil Big Time Traders!!!

buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday took his fight against corruption in Nigeria’s oil industry to big-time traders in the sector, especially those involved in crude oil delivery and owners of refineries abroad.

The President specifically cancelled all contracts for crude oil delivery to the three refineries in Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna. His axe also fell on companies involved in offshore refining in exchange for petroleum products at pre-agreed yield pattern.

Through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Buhari said the new measures were aimed at cost reduction and strengthening of operational efficiency across the organisation’s value chain. In a statement issued by NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, Mr. Ohi Alegbe, he said that after proper evaluation and in line with the terms of contract for the delivery of crude oil to the nation’s refineries in Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna, the Federal Government has cancelled the current contract due to huge costs and inappropriate processes of engagement. NNPC disclosed that as a stop-gap measure, NIDAS Marine Limited, a subsidiary of the corporation had been engaged to provide crude delivery service on negotiated industry standard rate pending the establishment of substantive contract.

Alegbe said: “We have also commenced a rigorous and transparent process of securing capable and competitive contractors for the delivery of crude oil by marine vessels to Port Harcourt and Warri/Kaduna Refineries pending the restoration of the crude pipeline infrastructure.”

The corporation further explained that it opted for the delivery of crude oil to the refineries by marine vessels following incessant attacks on the Bonny-Port Harcourt Refinery pipeline and the Escravos crude pipelines by vandals and oil thieves resulting in the complete unavailability of the pipelines in 2013.

The government also announced the termination of the Offshore Processing Agreements, OPAs, entered into in January 2015 with Duke Oil Company Inc., Aiteo Energy Resources Limited and Sahara Energy Resources (Nig) Ltd. Under the arrangement, the NNPC allocates a 210, 000 barrels of crude oil daily for refining at offshore locations in exchange for petroleum products at pre-agreed yield pattern.

According to the NNPC, after a detailed appraisal of the operation and its terms of agreement, it is convinced that the current agreement is skewed in favour of the companies, such that the value of product delivered is significantly lower than the equivalent crude oil allocated for the programme.

Alegbe added that the structure of the agreement does not guarantee unimpeded supply of petroleum products as delivery terms were not optimal, adding that to address these lapses, the NNPC informed that it has commenced the process of establishing alternative OPA based on optimum yield pattern with tender processing fees.

“After due appraisal of performance trajectory, we have invited Messrs. Oando, Sahara Energy, Calson, MRS, Duke Oil, BP/Nigermed and Total Trading to bid for the new Offshore Processing Agreement while we have engaged AITEO, Sahara Energy and Duke Oil to exit the current OPA,’’ the NNPC stated.

On the status of the crude-for-product exchange agreement, SWAP, reportedly entered into by the NNPC and some oil traders, the corporation said that the last SWAP arrangement lapsed in December 2014 and was never renewed. The NNPC also informed that it has obtained the permission of President Muhammadu Buhari to start the tendering process for the 2015/2016 Crude Oil Term Contract for the evacuation of Nigeria’s crude oil equity from the various crude and condensate production arrangements.

The corporation noted that the process which would commence with the advertisement of the Crude Oil Term contract in both national and international print media for a period of one month, has been carefully structured to weed out “briefcase companies” and rent seekers.

Unbelievable!!! Man sued neighbor for failure to make wife pregnant after 72 different ‘attempts’.

A 29 year old German man Demetrius Soupolos is suing his neighbour 34 year old Frank Maus for breach of contract after the latter failed to impregnate his wife in 72 different attempts to do so. Soupolos had hired Maus to impregnate his former beauty queen wife Traute as he was sterile and Traute wanted a baby badly.

He thought Maus would be a good choice as he resembled him and is a father of two. Soupolos paid Maus Sh260,000 for the job and for three evenings a week for the next six months, Maus tried desperately a total of 72 times to impregnate Traute. When Traute did not get pregnant after six months, Soupolos insisted Maus go for a medical examination which revealed he was sterile as well.

Mau’s wife was then forced to confess Maus was not the real father of her two kids. In his defence, Maus said he did not ‘guarantee’ conception, but only that he would give a ‘honest’ shot at it.

Usain Bolt wins again! Blast past Justin Gatlin to win gold in 200m World Championship.

Usain Bolt celebrates his victory in the 200m which saw him complete the sprint double at the world championships. Usain Bolt has done it again, winning his fourth consecutive world 200m title with a display of supreme confidence in his fastest time since the Olympic final at London 2012.

Four days after overcoming the odds and a flying Justin Gatlin to retain his 100m title, Bolt ran 19.55sec to best his American rival in a world-leading time and win his 10th world championship gold. Gatlin, who like Bolt started strongly but was unable to cope when the Jamaican eased away down the home straight, finished second in 19.74.
“It means a lot to me,” said Bolt, who did not even let being knocked over by a cameraman on a segway ruin his celebrations. “This is a big deal. I am happy to be a 10-time gold medallist.

Especially this season when a lot of people have been doubting me, saying that I would lose.
“I always have uttermost confidence, that is one thing you guys know. With a coach like Glen Mills, there is never a doubt. As long as he says I can do it, then I can do it. He is like my guardian angel. That is the way I look at it. He knows how to get me prepared, how to get me right. As long as my coach is confident, I am super confident.”

Orubebe is an elevated thug, a political jobber and a noise maker — Oshiomhole Responds

In the recent war of words between Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, and Mr Godsday Orubebe, Deputy Director-General of the 2015 Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation, where Orubebe referred to governor Adams as an "Agbero" [see], Governor Oshiomhole has responded to the name calling.

In his respond, Governor Adams Oshiomhole described Mr Godsday Orubebe, as an elevated thug and a political jobber, who is out to make noise as means of getting his next meal ticket.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Peter Okhiria, the Governor in reaction to Orubebe’s fresh attack on him said “reading Godsday Orubebe’s infantile outburst saying the Comrade Governor of Edo State is a “garage boy”(sic) easily exposes the boondocks orientation and lowly mind of someone who almost plunged the country into political anarchy in the last general elections. It easily underscores one of the reasons why the Jonathan administration failed abysmally to understand the nexus between promise and performance, between problems and solutions, and above all between prosperity and poverty.

“Orubebe is no more than a common tout and political thug, too illiterate to know the difference between a “garage” and a “motor park”, recruited by his paymasters as Deputy Director-General of the 2015 Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation, and agent provocateur to truncate the last election. But for the maturity and sound leadership orientation of Professor Atahiru Jega, Nigeria would still have been reeking in utter anarchy and political protestations.

“With such indecorous conduct coming from a man who ostensibly is an “Elder’ of a Church, calls to question the whole essence of his character, personality, upbringing and spirituality. That singular conduct of his at the elections is a living symphony of his egregious blunder, absurdities, incongruities and oddities, all of which are attributes of touts always desirous to make their voices heard.

“It is due to his amnesia that he forgot to understand that as a Nigerian and Governor of a State, Comrade Oshiomhole has statutory right to go in and out of the Presidential Villa to discuss issues that affect Edo State. Former President Goodluck Jonathan was President of Nigeria and not President of his party, the PDP. He was under obligation to attend to all parties and persons irrespective of their political affiliation.

“The real problem of former President Jonathan was having people like Orubebe who pigeon-holed him as president of the Ijaw Nation and prevented him from appreciating the enormity of the challenges facing the Nigerian nation. To further compound the challenges was the dénouement of his unruly and thuggish imputation during the elections, such tendentious character index that is now synonymous with this Niger-Deltan.

“Orubebe and his ilk turned the Presidency to a cabal, ran by ego-tripping political fat cats who blindfolded former President Jonathan from the real issues of governance. Desperate to continue that regime of plundering, sleaze and malfeasance, Orubebe was given the job of ensuring that the elections were stagnated by crook or hook. His roguish display at the venue of the announcement of results was to further actualize that notorious script; such a shameless role by a shameless father who was supposed to be a role model for good parenting.

“As former Minister of the Ministry of Niger Delta, he dreamt throughout his tenure without any discernible roadmap for the Niger-Delta region. We challenge him to name just a project he executed in Edo State as a product of his ministerial intervention during his tenure. He vandalized all the East-West roads, made them almost impassable as a caveat to get more budgetary allocation. He touts the East-West road as if that was the only reason why the Ministry of Niger Delta was created.

“As a Nigerian from the Niger-Delta geopolitical conclave, the likes of Orubebe are not only sad commentaries on the collective aspirations of the region, he represents the region’s black sheep who had opportunity to add value to the commonality of our existence but ended up adding insult to our collective injuries.

“A man like Orubebe should cover his face in utter shame for being such a huge disappointment for which the entire nation now derides the region for presenting a mere tout as one of our first eleven. Never again will the Niger Delta region be represented by characters like Orubebe who went to sleep while in office when others were busy working. The end result is that the region is utterly vandalized, raped and plundered without any discernible development. What a shame.

“He should mention the projects he attracted to the entire Niger Delta region during his tenure, or better still what he did in Burutu Local Government where he comes from. Despite the billions of naira budgeted for the Niger Delta Ministry, what has Orubebe got to show for it? The day of reckoning is surely here and he will account for every kobo spent.

“When the real story of the Jonathan Administration is written, Orubebe would rather be referred to as a Common Tout of the Federal Republic of Nigeria instead of being called a former Minister.”

Federal Government Probes Second Niger Bridge Amidst 140 Billion Naira Scam Allegation

The Federal Government has commenced probe into contract cost and conditions surrounding the second Niger Bridge.

The Director General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Aminu Diko, who disclosed this in Abuja after making presentations to President Muhammadu Buhari said, the Ministry of Works has been given the go ahead to review the contract cost of the project.

The Commission, Diko said has also identified some errors in the project. He said although the Commission has been discussing the transaction with the ministry of works, certificate of compliance must however be given by the commission before it can be finalized.

It will be recalled that Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole had accused the Goodluck Jonathan-led administration of spending over 140 billion Naira on consultancy alone in the construction of the bridge.

The Verbal War Is Still On! Orubebe Attacks Oshiomhole Again, Calls Him ‘Agbero Boy’

The war of wards between the ex-Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Peter Orubebe and the Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State Wednesday took a dimension of pedestrian, with the ex-Minister calling Oshiomhole a ‘garage boy’ and vowing to expose his dubious deeds against Nigerians.

Orubebe in a swift reaction to Oshiomhole’s response to his (Orubebe) earlier remarks on him, said that the Comrade Oshiomhole’s attempt to link his advice to President Muhammadu Buhari to be weary of popular Villa sycophants to his fears of a possible probe with connection to the East-West Road project shows he is indeed a ‘garage boy’ who lacks focus.

Orubebe who described the governor’s insinuation as laughable, maintained that the Edo state Governor has failed to address the issue of sycophancy which he accused him of.

He said Oshiomhole is suffering from chronic diarrhoea of the mouth and that is why he has lately been misleading Nigerians as his illiteracy is beyond human comprehension.

The former Minister of Special duties further argued that his integrity and high level of accountability all through his six years service to the nation as the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs cannot be matched nor compromised.

He added,

“I am proud to have been a vital instrument used by God to take the once abandoned East- West road project to an admirable 80 percent level of completion. It is unfortunate that our respected Niger Delta could produced the likes of Oshiomhole who is a garage boy that should be at the motor park as a son.
Threatening to expose Oshiomhole more, Elder Orubebe said,
“I will disgrace him publicly and tell the world about his dubious deeds as governor as well as his role in the botched Third Term Bid of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
“I am going to open his can of worms to the point that Nigerians will stone him if seen on the streets. I don’t talk carelessly as I have my facts to prove my points.’

On the alleged embezzlement of several billions of naira under his regime as minister of Niger Delta,
He said, “I am not afraid of probe, am a man of integrity under whose watch the abandoned 42 bridges and 1040 culverts that was initially without designed was upgraded to the level it is today.
“Every reasonable Niger Deltan and Nigerians at large knows that I am the admired face of the East West road, I can stand tall, anywhere and anytime to defend my administration as well as account for every dime that was allocated for the several projects we embarked upon’.
“My Co- ministers and every other person who was a member of the federal Executive Council under former president Jonathan’s watch can attest to the fact that I was a vessel par excellence who had result oriented contributed to make towards moving the nation forward,” he said.On

the statement by the Oshiomhole that he should be cooling off in jail following his actions at the 2015 presidential election collation Centre, Elder Orubebe said,

“if he is reasonable, he will not refer to my action at the election result collation centre.”
“This is because, history will talk about it and Nigerians will be proud of me. Yes, I had to apologise to Nigerians, particularly the youths over my I term ‘wrong approach to a just course’. Yes, I had a just case that was deliberately ignored, as one who felt cheated, and so reacted

He said,
“I’m laughing at him because, if there’s anyone who should bury his face in shame, it has to be Oshiomhole who disgraced, harassed and rough handled a poor widow who he should have ordinarily accommodated.”
He continued,
“My people are very proud of me, I mean the aged, the poor and orphans. I don’t disgrace them before putting smiles on their faces.

“I maintain the fact that Oshiomhole is a popular villa sycophant, a garage boy and that PMB should be weary of him, if he must succeed and be really admired.”

Meet the Couple who is Still Eating Their Wedding Cake 60 YEARS After Marriage

A couple (photo above) who have been married for 60 solid years still have their wedding cake, which was made in Aug, 1955. Can you beat that?

According to UK Mirror: Ann and Ken Fredericks have been married for 60 years after tying the knot in New York in 1955, and admit that they still have some of the original cake left.

The dark fruit cake was made by Ann’s grandmother, especially for their marriage ceremony on August 19.

And now, each year, on their anniversary, Ann and Ken take out a little bit of the cake to enjoy alongside a bottle of Champagne.

The pair reckon the cake has never spoiled, and simply needs a drop of brandy every so often to keep it moist.

Ann, who lives with her husband in Satellite Beach, Florida, told Florida Today: “I have to say it’s dry, tastes a little dry but it tastes like cake.”

“Little bit of Brandy never hurt anybody.”

Mr Fredericks added: “Maybe that’s the reason we’ve been around so long.”

And according to the couple, there’s no secret to storing the cake either, it is simply put into a tin and placed in a kitchen cupboard

Amazing!!! Would you eat a 60year old cake???

Mrs Buhari can't be head of Africa's First Ladies if she's not the First Lady of Nigeria, can she?

Presidential media aide Shehu Garba said something recently that I want us to discuss. Find it below..
“Out of respect to Mrs. Buhari, the Sierra-Leonian First Lady, Mrs. Sia Koroma recently surrendered her position of head of Africa’s First Ladies to Mrs. Buhari, inviting her to take up the same seat which Mrs. Jonathan hurriedly handed over a few weeks to the handover of her husband’s government to President Buhari. Again, all these things are currently under consideration and no decision has been arrived at presently"
If Pres. Buhari has or wants to abolish the office of The First Lady during his administration, (the media has been asked to refer to Aisha Buhari as the wife of the president and not First Lady) does it not disqualify her to head Africa's First Lady, since she's technically not a First Lady? Thoughts?

I ask because Mr Garba said that they are considering it. Below are other things he said...
“President Buhari promised that there would be a clear difference between the role played by his wife during his tenure and that played by many previous First Ladies.
“All that ostentation, ubiquitousness and arrogance we have come to expect from the office are over and done with. Change has come.
“The ideal platform from which she will be useful to Nigeria’s women and children is still being thought out. Once this has been concluded on, Mrs. Buhari’s role will become clearer to all Nigerians. There will be nothing shady or hidden about it. There will be no access to public funds. It will be purely private and voluntary."

Last administration paid N140bn as consultancy fee for the 2nd Niger bridge -Oshiomhole alleges

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole has alleged that a whooping N140bn was paid as consultancy fee for the construction of a second Niger bridge by the last administration. Oshiomhole said this while reacting to insinuations that the Buhari led government was victimizing the Igbos because they did not vote for him. He said if at all there was any victimization, it was in the last administration.

"For those who are interested in politics of sharing, I am not interested; I am interested in the politics of baking. If the competent hands come from one family and they will deliver to the nation so be it. If a Kenyan can be elected as an American President why should we continue to discuss South South or South East. The second Niger Bridge is what Ndigbo needs to ask Jonathan, where is that bridge? They did ground breaking, water breaking, where is the bridge? When Father Mbaka talked about the shame of Onitsha-Enugu road, people misconstrued his comments. Let me tell you, if the Igbos were marginalized, it was by President Jonathan under the PDP. Even the consultancy they did in the name of the second Niger Bridge, the expenditure they incurred which is not on ground, about 700 million dollars of that was funded from the Sovereign Wealth Fund which is money not belonging to the Federal Government but to the 774 Local Government Areas, the 36 states and of course the Federal Government. We called them to appear before us and they said they spent 700 million dollars from the Sovereign Wealth fund and I asked them where is the bridge? That 700million dollars amounted to N140billion on the second Niger Bridge and that money belongs to the three tiers of government. Okonjo Iweala was shouting on the need to have a Sovereign Wealth Fund but you can see what they used the money for. Those are the issues the Igbos should ask Jonathan to account for. Where is our bridge? Where is the dual carriage way from Onitsha to Owerri and Enugu. The roads in the South South as Obasanjo will say are embarrassment to the people of the South South. You cannot drive to Yenagoa, no road; so much noise about East West road, where is the road? You go to Akwa Ibom the Federal roads there are in bad shape. I have listened to governors from the South East, they will tell you there are no roads in the South East. So if the Igbos were marginalized, it was President Jonathan and the PDP. If Nigerians know what these people did, they will stone them to death – jungle justice. 700 million dollars gone on second Niger bridge without any bridge to show"he said
