5 bad habits that can destroy your relationship (Must Read)

Weaker couple

Every relationship comes with its own share of issues, so yours can only be as perfect as you want it to be.Often times your past relationships never worked out because you had a mindset that it would never have withstood the test of time, and always refer back to your thought when ever a problem arises.
You ought to figure yourself out and know who and what you want before starting a new relationship.

Keeping these bad habits can ruin any relationship you have:

 1. Playing games:

It doesn’t mean cheating. It means you prove too hard to crack, not opening up on current situations to your partner especially when you are hurt and angry. People’s feelings change over time with these kind of bad attitude being shown towards them. Work out your issues by communicating effectively.
2. Always thinking your relationship would never last:

With this kind of mindset, you’ll always feel justified when problems come in between you and your partner. You feel they can’t be solved and do the quickest thing – call the relationship off.

3. Settling for less:

You can only get as much as you deserve. If you feel you deserve someone who doesn’t even measure up or even comes to your relationship strength, then you and that partner of yours are getting to a dead-end soon.

4. Jealousy:

Don’t date them if you can’t trust them. Jealousy is an extra baggage you don’t need in your relationship.

 5. The thought that love will always be enough:

Love is a prerequisite in any relationship but unfortunately, it doesn’t cover all.  Qualities like trust and commitment are embedded in love which means that you need a whole lot more than liking someone to keep your relationship going.

800-pound man kicked out of hospital after ordering a pizza and is now living in his father’s SUV (Photo)

Steven Assanti

A Rhode Island man who weighs almost 800 pounds was kicked out of a hospital after ordering a pizza and is now being forced to live out of his father’s SUV. Steven Assanti, 33, from Cranston, was getting the help he desperately needed to combat his ‘eating addiction’ at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.

Over the past few months there, he had managed to lose 20 pounds. But when he broke the rules of his care plan by ordering the takeout meal, Assanti – who weighs 778 pounds – was told he could no longer stay.

He told NBC10: ‘It’s an addiction and I realize that. And it’s a disease.’

Assanti explained that he was supposed to remain at the hospital until his weight dropped to 550 pounds, at which point he could undergo gastric bypass surgery.

His father Steven Veilette said he can’t take his son home – but has no idea what to do.

‘I just don’t know who to turn to,’ he told NBC10. ‘I called everybody, everybody you can think of in the state of Rhode Island and nobody seems to be able to help me.’

He added that even if he was able to get his son up the stairs of his home, it would almost certainly mean returning to his previous eating pattern.

Veilette managed to get his son into the back of his SUV and vows to keep driving until he finds a permanent solution.

He took his son to the ER at Kent Hospital, but they were not permitted to spend the night.

A social worker at the hospital told the pair that a facility in North Attleborough may be able to help, which Veilette said they intend to visit.

Following coverage in the media of his plight, Assanti took to his Facebook page to thank his supporters.

In a video posted online yesterday, he said: ‘Hopefully, in the near future there will be a positive follow-up with my weight loss.

‘I would like to thank all my supporters as well on my Facebook page and also to all the negative comments that give me a thicker skin.’

Rhode Island Hospital declined to comment when approached by Daily Mail Online.

Court stops Diezani from leaving UK till next April

Court stops Diezani from leaving UK till next April
Former Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke will not be able to leave the United Kingdom (UK) until April, next year, The Nation learnt yesterday.
That is when the investigations into allegations against her are expected to have been concluded, Judiciary sources said.

She is expected to be arraigned before the magistrate for alleged money laundering and bribery,
Mrs Alison-Madueke was arrested last week along with four others by the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA).She was granted bail. Her international passport was, however, seized.
On Monday, the London  Westminster Magistrate’s Court on Marylebone Road approved the holding of the £27,000 cash seized from her, following an application brought by the NCA under the Proceeds of Crime Act in the UK.
The court also ruled that the cash can be held for six months – till April, next year when she is expected to be arraigned after investigations.
It was learnt yesterday that the court also granted the order that she should remain in London while investigations last.
Mrs Alison-Madueke will only be able to travel after an application has been brought before the court and approved.
She had previously denied any wrongdoing when it was alleged that $20b of oil money had gone missing when she was in office between 2010 and 2015
The NCA, which leads the UK law enforcement’s fight to cut serious and organised crime, is working in league with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the probe of the former minister.
Last Friday when Mrs Alison-Madueke was arrested in London, her Abuja home was raided by the EFCC.
The NCA has national and international reach and the mandate and powers to work in partnership with other law enforcement organisations to bring the full weight of the law to bear on serious and organised criminals.
The Proceeds of Crime Act says: “The Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (“POCA”) sets out the legislative scheme for the recovery of criminal assets with criminal confiscation being the most commonly used power.
“Confiscation occurs after a conviction has taken place. Other means of recovering the proceeds of crime, which do not require a conviction, are provided for in the Act, namely civil recovery, cash seizure and taxation powers.
“The aim of the asset recovery schemes in POCA is to deny criminals the use of their assets, recover the proceeds of crime and disrupt and deter criminality.”

‘Fulani herdsmen’ attacks Chief Olu Falae again!!

‘Fulani herdsmen’ invade Falae’s farm
Fulani herdsmen have reportedly invaded the farmland belonging to the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Olu Falae. They allegedly destroyed his crops at Ilado in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. The farm manager, Bruno Akhigbodemen,
who conducted reporters round the farmland, said over one kilometre plantation of maize was destroyed during the invasion last Sunday. Akhigbodemen said the herdsmen arrived at 2am.
He said the workers’ efforts to prevent the destruction of the farmland were rebuffed as they were threatened by the herdsmen.

The farm manager said the former Finance minister  reported the latest destruction to the police.
Some detectives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) were immediately deployed to the farm on Monday.

They reportedly combed neighbouring villages for the suspects but were unable to make any arrest.
It was gathered that the police have invited leaders of the herdsmen, who stood as sureties for those who were arrested and released during the last invasion when over N500, 000 worth of farm products were destroyed.
Akhigbodemen described the latest destruction as devastating. He appealed to the government and the security operatives to act decisively on the matter.
Falae could not be reached for comments.
Police spokesman Olufemi Joseph said he had not been adequately briefed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO).

Tribunal Nullifies Elections of PDP Lawmaker Over Faillure to Produce His School Certificates

The Yobe Legislative Elections Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja has nullified the election of Rep. Sabo Garba (PDP-Nangere/Potiskum) for lack of educational qualification following a petition filed by Alhaji Ali Yakubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The issue we consider is that why should the first respondent who should possess the originals of the certificate, shy away from testifying or from producing the originals of the certificates,’’ the presiding judge held.
Yakubu and his party had asked the tribunal to nullify Garba’s election on the ground that he did not possess the requisite qualification to contest the election.

Out of the four issues raised by the petitioners – malpractice, non compliance with electoral guidelines, forgery and lack of educational qualification – the tribunal based its judgment on the fourth issue of educational qualification.

“The first respondent as at the date of the election conducted on March 28, 2015, was not qualified to contest the election into the House of Representatives representing Nangere/Potiskum Federal Constituency," the petition said.

“His affidavit in support of Personal Particulars INEC Form CF 001 states that he attended Teachers College, Bama, Borno State, from 1979 to 1984, but there is no record from the school and National Teachers Institute, of having attended such institution.

“The first respondent claimed in the affidavit that he attended Central Primary School Potiskum, from 1974 to 1979, but there is no record from the school of having attended such institution,” the petitioners had submitted.

The petitioners also tendered documents obtained from Teachers College Bama, National Teachers Institute, Kaduna, and Central Primary School, Potassium, to buttress their allegation. They had also subpoenaed officials of the three schools who had testified to the effect that the lawmaker did not attend the schools.

In the judgment, the tribunal ordered Garba to vacate his seat in the House of Representatives. It also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the petitioner as the winner of the election and issue certificate of return to him.

BREAKING! Edwin Clark Blasts Jonathan, Praises Buhari

Hmm! all these our politicians tho lol!..so,a former Federal Commissioner of Information, Chief Edwin Clark, has hailed the anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari and knocked former President Goodluck Jonathan for lacking the political will to fight graft.

Clark, who said it was wrong for anyone to accuse President Buhari of fighting a selective war in his drive to return sanity into the polity, also declared that he had formally left the Peoples Democratic Party.

Clark called on Nigerians not to distract the President from achieving his goal, just as he appealed to the President to remain focused in his determination to rid the country of corruption.

The Ijaw leader spoke in Abuja on Wednesday when a group, Think Nigeria First Initiative, paid him a courtesy call in his Abuja residence.

He said, “Jonathan didn’t have the political will to fight corruption. He’s a gentleman. Drivers of yesterday are living in palatial buildings now under his government.

“In advanced countries, when you are living above your means, people query you. That’s not so in Nigeria. Former governors, lawmakers are now asking for immunity.”

Clark, who was a staunch supporter of former President Jonathan, however, said he had quit the PDP. But he said he would not join the governing party, the All Progressives Congress.

He said, “I no longer belong to the PDP. I won’t go to the APC either, but I will continue to talk as an elder statesman and leader of this country. I have left politics.

“If anyone comes to me to say he’s running for any elective position in the PDP or the APC, I won’t support you. I’m not a member of the PDP anymore.”

It was however not clear if Clark quit the party because of the defeat suffered by Jonathan during the last presidential election.

It will be recalled that President Buhari, who was the candidate of the APC, defeated Jonathan, who was the PDP candidate during the election.

Clark also accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of institutionalising corruption in the country.

He had also said that he and other supporters of former President Jonathan were worried because of the outcome of the last presidential election. He, however, added that there was nothing they could do since the former President had conceded defeat.

He said, “

Some of us were worried when Jonathan conceded defeat. We were worried. If a man who contested election conceded defeat, who are you to say no?
“Elections had been held, winners had emerged and losers had agreed, what next? Buhari is now my President and the President of Nigeria.
“We should all try and support him, particularly in his determination to eradicate corruption in Nigeria. For eight years Obasanjo legalised corruption.

“Yet, he’s the one talking about corruption today. Nobody should distract Buhari from fighting corruption. People should stop talking about sectional or selective justice.”
Clark said those who ruled the country before Buhari, like the late President Umaru Yar’Adua and Jonathan didn’t have the political will to fight corruption.

He specifically accused Yar’Adua of being a friend to the jailed former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori.

Clark said,

“Yar’Adua became friend with Ibori, who is very corrupt and because of this, he could not fight corruption.”
In his reaction to Clark’s dumping of the PDP, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, said the party would want to wish the elder statesman well.

“He is a man we respect so much. If he’s leaving our party and wants to retire from politics, we wish him well,” Metuh said.

Nigerian Army Forces Al-Mustapha To Retire! (See Why)

Maj. Hamza al-Mustapha,a former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, has been compulsorily retired from the Army.

His compulsory retirement, according to a military source, arose from his unavailability in the Army for a period of over 14 years, while he was away to face trial over the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, a wife of the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief M.K.O. Abiola.

On Wednesday a copy of the retirement letter sent to Al-Mustapha from the Army Headquarters.

Following Abacha’s death on June 8, 1998, Al-Mustapha was arrested in October of the same year for the murder of Kudirat, an offence for which he was tried for 14 years.

The Federal Government also pressed other charges which did not succeed against Al-Mustapha during the period.

He was subsequently sentenced to death for Kudirat’s murder by a Lagos High Court in Igbosere on January 30, 2012, but he was discharged and acquitted on July 12, 2013 by a superior judgment of the Court of Appeal in Lagos.

But his letter of compulsory retirement indicated that the Army Council took the decision to force him out of service at its meeting held on August 5, 2013, more than a year after the Court of Appeal acquitted him.

Lover Baths Herself With Acid While Trying To Burn Her Ex-boyfriend (See Photos)

Karma did its work here...A jilted girlfriend has suffered serious burn injuries after carrying out a botched acid attack on her former lover, police say.

Ung Limey, 21, from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, tried to pour acid on her boyfriend while riding on the back of his motorcycle. He was injured, but most of the acid was blown back onto her own face

To make matters worse, her ex, Leng Socheata, 23, crashed the bike shortly afterwards as a result of the pain from the burns, causing further injury to the pair.

Ung, the acid pourer, fled the scene before police arrived, and police believe she has been treated for her burns at a private hospital. Leng's family told police it was an act of revenge after they had convinced him to break off the relationship after discovering she had a history of stealing and drug related offences.

Although she's currently missing, local media has been posting photos of Ung with a bandaged face that came out on social media.

The police said: 'We have visited all of the state hospitals and there was no sign of her, and we suspect that means that she has been treated in a private hospital.'

Catholic Bishop Warns President Buhari seriously

A Catholic Bishop and representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, used his Independence anniversary message last week to slam Nigerian political and religious leaders, warning them of actions that could spell doom for the country.

Speaking in Abuja, the Arch Bishop of Kafanchan Diocese, Joseph Bagobiri, said the main reason Nigeria has not enjoyed peace was because its people have continued the “blind pursuit” of “self centered and parochial interest”.

“We have since our amalgamation in 1914, and all through our 55 years of independence as a sorrowing state, not been successful in harnessing our plurality; our diversity, into a rainbow of peace and sustainable development,” he said.

“We need Nigeria first, before all the other contending things that we are fighting and struggling for.”
The Bishop charged the new administration to make justice, fairness and equity its watchword, as a means of ensuring the support of Christians and all Nigerians.

“We didn’t have any problem with this government coming into power. We support this government we pray daily for this government. But we advise this government to enthrone justice fairness and equity,” he said.

He urged President Buhari to desist from being tempted to use anti-graft agencies for selfish gains.
“Nigerians are very smart people. Nigerians are very intelligent people. If you are fighting corruption for the sake of corruption, Nigerians understand it,” he warned.

“If we mistakenly give in to the temptation of using government apparatus like the EFCC, the ICPC, and their likes as instruments to scold; instruments of revenge and vendetta, sooner or later we will not be able to go on,” he said.

The man denied recent claims by the Nigerian military that some members of the terrorist group had surrendered to the army. He also denied claims by the military that a number of women and children abducted by Boko Haram had been rescued.

He said the troops had failed on the battle front and were now resorting to a media campaign to rubbish the insurgents. He ended by saying the violent campaign by the group would not be derailed.

Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh Drops Enyeama, Names Ahmed Musa As Captain

The Coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh has reportedly dropped 101 caps goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama as the captain of the team, naming CSKA Moscow forward, Ahmed Musa as the skipper of the team.

The Super Eagles camp in Belgium was torn into shreds following squabbles between Coach Sunday Oliseh and captain Vincent Enyeama ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against Congo.

The arrival of Lille goalkeeper and captain of the Eagles in Belgium which ordinarily should bring cheers to the camp instead, turned the camp into a war zone following allegations of anti-camp activities against the captain.

Enyeama arrived at the Nigeria camp on Tuesday, one day after Monday’s deadline, after attending his mother’s funeral over the weekend in his home town.

According to reports, Oliseh was unhappy about his captain’s late arrival and demoted him at a team meeting after dinner, naming CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa as the new captain.
